Hooray for Earth Performs “All of the Lights”
Indie electronic band Hooray for Earth took on the feat of performing their own version of Kanye West’s hit song “All of the Lights” (featuring Rihanna).
The band took Kanye’s song and turned it into something a little haunting, a little fuzzy or blurry, and a lot different from the original. It’s kind of hard to explain; you kind of just have to listen to their version to understand why they’d even want to try to tackle the song, and how they could possibly make it their own and make it work as an electronic-pop-alternative beat.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Welcome Twins
Over the weekend, Mariah Carey gave birth to twins–a boy and a girl. She and husband Nick Cannon have over and over again expressed their excitement to be parents. Apparently, as the twins were being born, Carey was listening to “We Belong Together.”
The couple wed on April 30, 2008, so on their anniversary weekend three years later, they welcomed two children to their family. As a celebration for the occasion, while in the hospital, Carey and Cannon recited their wedding vows.

“The Voice” Premieres Tonight
There has actually been a lot of hype over NBC’s reality singing competition show, “The Voice.” For one thing, the judges that were chosen are ultra-famous. Adam Levine (of Maroon 5) and Christina Aguilera have both been in the spotlight for nearly a decade. Blake Shelton and Cee-Lo Green are newer to the mainstream eye, but they’re still prominent figures. But, it’s not the just the judges that have sparked the interest in the new show.
NBC is trying to make “The Voice” seem a lot more different than your American Idols and X Factors out there. First, during auditions, the contestants are brought to a room containing the judges–nothing new there. But, the judges’ backs are going to be toward the contestants, making the auditions “blind.” The basis of a “yes” or “no” will be purely due to someone’s voice. It’s an attempt to show that American Idol’s “whole package” contestant is shallow, I’m pretty sure.
