Happy Mother’s Day!
Technically Mother’s Day isn’t until Sunday…but shouldn’t *every* day be mother’s day? 
Treat your mom with flowers, brunch, mimosas, anything her heart desires. It’s the least we can do, right? Hopefully the weather will be nice and you can go for a walk and enjoy the spring day. Maybe that’s a conspiracy…no wonder Mother’s Day falls in the globally-perfect-weather season (although I think it may be raining in Bogota. Could be some lightning, too).
There’s some interesting history behind this holiday, though.

You may be wondering, So what is this day actually celebrating? The birthdays of our founding fathers? Lincoln’s birthday? Washington’s birthday? Our need for a day off of work/school in February? It seems that the federal holiday has turned into all of the above. You may be surprised what it actually is, though.

Happy New Year from SendMe!
I was going to write my usual Friday post with new albums and whatnot, but instead I’ve decided to wish you all a happy new year instead!
2010 was a difficult and strenuous year for a lot of people, so here’s to 2011 looking up. Let’s cross our fingers and hope for no more giant natural disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, volcano eruptions…I’m talking to you, Eyjafjallajökull!) or unnatural disasters, either (economic and financial crashes/crises, Sarah and Bristol Palin). It may be asking a little too much of the world, but I think that can happen, right? Or, technically, not happen.
