New Albums: Black Eyed Peas and Glee

Black Eyed Peas – The Beginning

How clever. The last Black Eyed Peas album was called THE E.N.D. in 2009, and their latest album is called The Beginning. I like it. After the 2009 monster album sold over 11 million copies, though, it may be hard to surpass the magnitude of The E.N.D.

That being said…I think The Beginning can get it done. Personally, I think it’s better than their last album, which contained huge hits such as “I Gotta Feeling,” “Imma Be,” and “Boom Boom Pow.” Their first single off of The Beginning, “The Time (Dirty Bit)” is already climbing the charts and has cracked through the top 10.

The deluxe version of the album contains 15 new tracks from the Black Eyed Peas–check it out!

Glee Cast – Glee: The Music, Volume 4

It’s the holiday season, and so naturally, it’s time for another Glee album! Woohoo!…

The 4th volume of Glee music contains an astounding 18 tracks, and includes some songs that were also on some other Glee compilations (such as some Britney Spears songs: “Toxic,” “Stronger,” etc.).  If I had to choose a few to recommend, I’d suggest Lea Michele’s version of Paramore’s “The Only Exception.”  It was out of place in the show, but with no context at all, it’s nice.

The biggest hit on the album is probably their version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” which shockingly reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. How long will the Glee train last, I wonder?
