Adam Lambert Suffering Negative Repercussions?

Ever since the AMAs, Adam Lambert has taken to his Twitter account and to the Ellen Degeneres Show to clear his name a little. He almost apologized for the raunchy performance, saying that maybe he took the wrong approach toward making a first impression (or, for the Idol fans, a first second impression).

Well, what I’m wondering is, is he suffering negative repercussions or was it kind of a smart move? I mean, if you look at it through the eyes of people like Heidi and Spencer, literally, NO publicity is bad publicity. Since his performance, Adam Lambert is now a widely-known person, whereas before, he was only known by a select few people other than his American Idol fans.

But, ABC has canceled on him a few times since the AMAs (Jimmy Kimmel and New Year’s Eve special) and have begun the processes to change their “live performance” rules. All of those actions are the direct result of Lambert himself. What gives?

But, AGAIN, on the other side, Lambert is even recognized by celebrities outside his own genre. Eminem has mentioned him in a song, now. I mean, granted, he went a little far and may have insulted Lambert just for being gay…but hey, even according to Lambert, Eminem mentioning him in a song at all is a big sign of recognition.

Says Lambert, “Wow eminem mentioned me in a song?! I must be doin something right!? Even if he used the f word…. Whtev.” Big deal for him (I guess), and classy move at disregarding a potential insult.

What do YOU think? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter! (If you didn’t realize it already, I’m all for Lambert. He’s no Gaga, but really, who is?!)
