‘Dexter’ Goes Mobile
And I thought Dexter (and everything that goes along with it) couldn’t get any better!

Showtime has teamed up with game-designing company SCVNGR to design and create a mobile program for users to play a Dexter-themed interactive game. Technically, this game is a “promotional” game in order to spread the word about the upcoming season 5 premiere of Dexter (September 26!!!), and so it will be played only in select cities in the U.S. from Wednesday, July 21 to Sunday, July 25.
Apparently, mobile users who play the game can step into the mind of Dexter and find clues and information about season 5. They’ll also be playing to win Dexter merchandise (which is awesome on its own).
One more awesome thing that participants of San Diego’s Comic-Con will be able to get: you know how Dexter marks his victims with a little cut on each of their cheeks? Well the fans/players at the San Diego Comic-Con can get a “cheek slash” tattoo. I guess Showtime is handing out close to 100,000 of them. I want one! If anyone is there…get one and sport it for me. (Or send it to me; that works, too!) Users can take pictures of themselves with their mobile phones and then upload the pictures onto the “Dexter Game On” site (dextergameon.com).
Luckily for me, there will be a “cheek-slash-yourself” Facebook application. ![]()

People who want to play but who are unable to attend the San Diego Comic-Con will be able to play in New York, LA, Chicago, Seattle, and Atlanta as well.
The Showtime panels are scheduled for this Thursday, July 22 (”The Anti-Heroes of Showtime” 4:45-5:45p) and will consist of many Showtime actors, including the great Michael C. Hall himself. I can’t tell you how jealous I am of all you attendees!
P.S. It took a lot of effort not to give away any spoilers from seasons 1-4! SO GOOD.
