Did You Watch Mad Men??
The wait is FINALLY over, and AMC’s Mad Men has returned for its fourth season!
Now, I’ve heard some people express disappointment in Sunday’s season-opener…I think they’re crazy! It was full of mystery, intrigue, and, of course, Roger Sterling’s sarcasm.
The season premiere showed us that a year has passed since the end of season 3 (appropriately, the season ended a year ago, so it’s as if the show is happening in the same type of time-allotment…just 50 years ago), and so much has changed. When we last saw the gang at Sterling-Cooper…well…Sterling-Cooper was no more, and Sterling-Cooper-Draper-Price was working out of one small hotel room.
In just one year, the group has already moved up and is operating on two floors of a high-rise building. Don was trying to be modest when a newspaper reporter was asking him about the transition and process of building up a brand new ad agency, and that backfired on him. By the end of the episode, Draper decided to be re-interviewed, this time not leaving out any detail of his hectic year…professionally, that is.
Betty Draper is now living with her new boyfriend. She spent the holidays (we saw Thanksgiving in the episode) with his family, and things did not go over very well. Both Betty and Don are struggling with new friendships and relationships, labeled as “divorcees.” They’re bickering with each other, and tensions are running high.
All in all, I think this is shaping out to be a great season. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
What other shows is everyone watching this summer? True Blood? America’s Got Talent?….What else is there?? Oh well, regardless, watch Mad Men on AMC on Sundays!!
