Fall TV Premieres: Comedy
No one can say they aren’t excited about any TV shows that premiere in the fall (or if they do, something must be wrong). Personally, I watch too much TV—but that’s the beauty of DVRs, right? You watch a lot of shows but barely any reruns! There are a few shows I’m more excited about than others, though.
The Office, for example, is one of the funniest and smartest shows on right now. Since the loss of Arrested Development in 2006, The Office has picked up the pieces of dry wit and awkward humor. I can’t wait to see what new nicknames Pam gets and what new additions the show will have (wink wink!). The new seasons begins on September 17! I can’t believe it’s season 6 already…
Glee is a show I’m really looking forward to. I watched the pilot in May and I have to say, I was really impressed with it. It’s a tough concept to run with—a weekly musical TV series. Sure, it’s easy to be funny when you have Jane Lynch in the cast: every single thing she says is funny. But, other than Lynch, the cast is young and unrecognizable, and the concept is unique (which could go either way with audiences). Glee returned on September 9, and is on tonight!
How I Met Your Mother is also a really popular show. Neil Patrick Harris has come back into the spotlight with another hit series after being over a decade out of Doogie Howser, M.D. The show has become one of the best-known sitcoms on TV today, which is impressive. It is really difficult to get a sitcom to stick these days (ever since Seinfeld and Friends went off the air). How I Met Your Mother begins its fourth season on September 22!
For some light-hearted humor be sure to check out these shows!
