Gaga and the $1 Million Challenge
Ohhhh, boy. Los Angeles singer Alisa Apps is trying to stir up a lot of trouble by releasing bold statements and big challenges toward Lady Gaga, and man, is she firing things up good. In a release, Apps stated that “I feel sorry for Lady Gaga — she’s just a plastic doll generated by the music money marketing machine.”
You know, I might be more willing to listen to words like that if I had ever heard of this girl before, or if she had even released any albums of her own. Oh, yeah, that’s right, she doesn’t even have a single record to her name. Actually, I’d even be impressed if her most popular YouTube video had more than 1.2 million views. I know a few laughing babies, bratty kittens, and bicycle accidents that have more views than that.
Check out Apps’s “popular” song, “How Do I Make Right” above. I mean, it’s fine. I just don’t know that one song gives her the right to bite Lady Gaga for being in the limelight…especially when this girl is trying to claw her way into the music scene by having a cash-prize contest with Gaga. The competition would be between the two of them as a televised sing-off at either Madison Square Garden in New York or the O2 Arena in London.
Says Apps, “This contest gives people a chance to choose which they prefer — plastic or real.” I have a feeling about which way this is gonna go. Even if Apps is a decent piano player and a good singer, Gaga is an equally great piano player, and we all know she’s got the chops to hit whatever notes she wants to! I say, bring it on! Or actually, maybe just ignore the nobody. Either way would be cool with me.
