So what’d you think? Was it worth the six (or was it seven) month hiatus? Are you still gonna watch?
Actually, if we’re being honest…at first, I didn’t think it was a good idea of Fox to give Glee such a long break. I thought it would lose steam and that people would just forget about it. Boy, I think I was really wrong. I think there are more people talking about this show now than there ever were when it first started! The number of “gleeks” has risen exponentially!
So last night’s episode, then. What’d you think? First of all, genius to put the show on right after American Idol. But the quality of the episode itself, too, was surprisingly decent. I had been getting very frustrated with the show in the fall. The plots were getting ridiculous and so far-fetched that it was really annoying. Plus the songs weren’t really staying relevant or, well, good.
They came back with Lionel Richie, though, and it was awesome. I love the song they used (”Hello“), and that happened to be the theme for the show. There was also some Neil Diamond, The Beatles, The Doors, and The All-American Rejects. Good start, Glee!
I’m pretty excited for next week, too, though. It’s Madonna week! I hear there will be songs such as “Vogue” (sung by Jane Lynch–best character on the show), “Express Yourself,” “4 Minutes” (which sounded really good in the preview, I have to say), “Burning Up” and “Like a Prayer.” I’m sure there will be more, too, so that’ll be fun! Are you looking forward to it? Are you still watching this show? It’s so hard to explain…I follow it; I watch it every week. But, I’m not sure I particularly enjoy watching it. I really do think Lea Michele is the gem of the show, though. Her voice is absolutely amazing.
And the show has been picked up for another season, so we’ll get to see everyone back next season! I wonder if it’s cool to be in a singing club in high schools across America now…
