Janet Jackson’s Boob is Still Relevant?

Was that too crass?  Oh.  Well…it got your attention, didn’t it?  But the question is: should it have??!

It has been six whole years since Justin Timberlake “accidentally” caused a “wardrobe malfunction” to occur with Janet Jackson’s outfit.  Okay, seriously, this debate ended about five years ago (if not longer).  No one cares anymore!

Oh, wait…that isn’t entirely accurate.  Apparently, the FCC is still fighting with CBS about the Super Bowl XXVIII halftime show (keep in mind that we just had Super Bowl XLIV).  Seriously, guys?  People were that offended?  I think it’s funny that the people who were most outraged were socially conservative families, right?  Okay.  It’s funny because we sit there for four hours watching this incredibly violent sport where the players get so worked up that they physically hurt each other (on purpose), and we’re shocked and horrified by a little bit of skin showing?  Really? What about when Devin Hester (accidentally) mooned everybody on live TV? I didn’t hear anything about that!

Anyway, back to the point: C-Span is set to air the recent hearings and arguments made by both the FCC and by CBS.  No, it still hasn’t been resolved.  I know I’ve said that a few times but it still just baffles me!  There are so many more important things to care about.  But regardless, the case was basically dismissed by the Third Circuit courts in 2008, but then the trusty Supreme Court picked it up again in May 2009 and urged the Third Circuit to reconsider instating the fine from FCC to CBS.  So, that’s where it is now.

Gah!

Well, the arguments will be aired on C-Span Radio today, and on the C-Span television network on February 28 at 7pm.  I wonder if this will boost their ratings?

P.S. I was going to post the YouTube video of the “incident” but decided against it.  Just FYI.
