Katy Perry Lands New Role
After the “Sesame Street” debacle in which Katy Perry seemed to show a little bit too much cleavage for some of the parents who watched the show last week, it seemed that Miss Perry would have been hard-pressed to find more TV cameos. (Granted, what offended me more than too much skin was her acting…but perhaps that’s just me.)
Well, it looks like some people on TV have found this scandal to be a little ridiculous. On Saturday’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Katy was in a sketch for which she wore an Elmo t-shirt, of which her chest was practically busting out (no pun intended…kind of). In the sketch, she, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph were poking fun at the uppity parents. Seriously, what kid is going to pay too close attention to her chest? And also, I’m guessing these same parents let their kids watch CSI and all those shows that depict violence without blinking. Bets? Takers?
It seems that the good people over at FOX and with “The Simpsons” aren’t letting Katy Perry’s chest stop them from having her as a guest voice-over on their show, either. She will be in the studio, joining the cast for a Christmas episode of the “Simpsons,” which will air on December 5th.
Other than the SNL sketch, we haven’t really heard anything from Katy Perry herself about the controversy, but if I were her, I would be kind of annoyed. I mean, everyone on set at “Sesame Street” saw exactly what she was wearing. In fact, I’d guess that they even had their own people in wardrobe dressing her. Thoughts?
