New Albums: Keyshia Cole and Keri Hilson

Keyshia Cole – Calling All Hearts

Keyshia Cole made her debut in 2005 with her album The Way It Is, which has sold over one million albums in the United States alone. Ever since there, all of her albums have been consistently good, and consistently successful.

The R&B artist is back with Calling All Hearts, her latest album since the success of her 2008 album, A Different Me. This new album is slow and soulful (listen to “Long Way Down“). Cole shows that she’s still going strong in all eleven new tracks. My only complaint, actually, is that her hair is a little bit too red. It’s verging on the “Oh, Rihanna’s red hair looks amazing! I want mine to look like that but not enough so that people can make a straight-line comparison.” You’re not fooling anyone!

But sticking to the music…check out Calling All Hearts this week.

Keri Hilson – No Boys Allowed

Man, Keri Hilson looks great on the cover of No Boys Allowed, huh? Well, sans the lipstick that’s supposed to look like a cigarette.

In the time period of two years, Keri Hilson will have released two albums, which is extremely impressive. In 2009, she burst onto the scene with a #3-hit song “Knock You Down” with Kanye West and Ne-Yo. Ever since then, Keri Hilson has had a straight-shot to the A-list.  Though her other singles haven’t been quite as successful as “Knock You Down,” she’s back on the charts with “Pretty Girl Rock” from No Boys Allowed.

All twelve new tracks on the album sound unique and interesting, and her voice sounds great. Check it out!
