New Albums: Sheryl Crow and Rick Ross
Sheryl Crow – 100 Miles from Memphis
If nothing else, Sheryl Crow looks amazing for her age, doesn’t she? But luckily for her (and us), she’s also really talented and keeps consistently cranking out great music. Her last album, Detours, came out in 2008. Shockingly, it was the only album of hers *not* to reach Platinum status in the United States. To date, she has sold over 16 million albums in the U.S. and over 35 million worldwide.
So her newest album, 100 Miles from Memphis, sounds like a mixture of pop, country, and blues. It’s very laid back and soothing. Very Sheryl Crow, I’d say!
Her voice never changes, and her style never gets old. I think my favorite track on the album is “Sign Your Name.” It could be my favorite because Justin Timberlake sings backup for her on the track. It was also a Terence Trent D’Arby hit song back in 1988.
Regardless, it’s a great album and you should check it out!
Rick Ross – Teflon Don
Rick Ross has been around the U.S. music scene for under four years, but already he is releasing his fourth studio album, Teflon Don. Just to mention, his previous three albums did extremely well in the United States, as each of them reached #1 on the Billboard 200 charts.
So Teflon Don includes 11 new tracks from Rick Ross, and almost all of them feature some of today’s biggest hip hop/rap stars. He has artists like Kanye West, Jay-Z, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Diddy, Drake, and others helping him out. Must be great to be signed with Def Jam Records, right?
With such big stars, as well as Rick Ross, on this album, you can’t really go wrong. Check out the album today! P.S. Stacey Dash is in the music video for “Super High” and looks amazing!
