New Albums: Susan Boyle and Kid Cudi
What a combination of names, right?
Susan Boyle – The Gift
Just under exactly a year after Susan Boyle burst onto the Billboard charts with her album I Dreamed A Dream, she’s back with a new album called, The Gift, which features ten new tracks from the singer.
Susan Boyle’s story is kind of like a Cinderella story: she walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage with everyone looking at her and expecting a poor audition. Instead, she captured the hearts of all of Britain, America, and the rest of the globe. Her debut album has sold over 9 million copies in just a year’s time.
The Gift is a holiday album that contains ten songs, such as Leonard Cohen’s classic song “Hallelujah” (which happens to be one of my favorite songs). There are also holiday favorites such as “O Holy Night,” “The First Noel,” and “Away In A Manger.” Check out the album now!
Kid Cudi – Man On The Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager
Kid Cudi released his first album, Man On The Moon: The End of Day, in September of 2009. The album peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200, and earned Cudi commercial success and recognition.
So now he’s back with Man On The Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager. What an incredibly long title. Anyway, the long title goes along with a long playlist on the deluxe edition of the album, which contains 17 new tracks from the hip hop artist.
I think Cudi’s sophomore album is better than his debut album, to be honest. There’s more variety, it’s smart, and it’s funny. Plus he has some heavy-hitting collaborations, such as with Mary J. Blige and Kanye West (which is my favorite song off the album, “Erase Me“). Check out the new album now!
