New Promo for “The Voice”
Yes, there *is* going to be yet another reality competition television program. Why does this surprise you? Following American Idol’s success (though ten years later), NBC will be premiering The Voice, and the judges–though we don’t quite know their roles yet, only their titles as “judges”–are Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera, the extremely-popular-and-on-a-roll Cee-Lo Green, and country singer Blake Shelton.
Oh yeah, and they’ve got Carson Daly as the host. Think he’ll be up to par with Seacrest? Or will he be more like a Lachey? (Yikes.)
The only difference between The Voice and Idol, it seems, is that during contestants’ auditions, the judges’ backs will be facing the contestants so that it will be a blind audition. This, I assume, will give off the impression that The Voice will be less discriminating than Idol. Okay, I’ll bite. Levine said in an interview: “Remember the 70s? There was some sketchy-looking people with some gorgeous voices.”
Fair enough. Will you watch The Voice, which premieres on NBC on April 26? (As for me, I think I’ll be more anxiously awaiting Steve Carell’s final episode of The Office which airs on April 28th. Argh!)
