Paramore: A Brief Profile

The lead singer of Paramore, Hayley Williams, started taking voice lessons at 13 after she met brothers Zac and Josh Farro. Later the group expanded to five with the addition of Jeremy Davis and Taylor York.

Paramore rose to fame after the release of their second album, Riot! The first single, “Misery Business,” written by Williams, peaked at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100. For a relatively unknown band at the time, #26 was more than they could ask for. Little did they know, though, that “Misery Business” was just the beginning.

Since then, they have released several more singles, including the song from the Twilight soundtrack, “Decode.” Smart move. I knew from the second I heard Twilight was becoming a movie that Paramore would be on the soundtrack! They have gained massive popularity with the teen demographic for their mixture of alternative, rock, punk, and “emo” music and style.

Their next studio album, Brand New Eyes, is set to be released on September 29. The first single from the album, entitled, “Ignorance,” is already climbing the charts. With the release of the music video, the song’s popularity should only grow further. The release of the album and the single is the mark of their fall tour, announced on Paramore’s official website, which is set to start on the same day of the CD’s release.

Keep an eye out for Brand New Eyes and Paramore in concert!
