The Infamous White Glove

Last week, Michael Jackson’s infamous white glove was up for auction. Guess how much the buyer paid for it. Nope. No. Still higher. The buyer bid and won with $350,000 for the King of Pop’s famous piece of clothing.

The auction included a lot of memorabilia owned or used by Michael Jackson, but the glove is considered to be one of the most famous pieces, and one of the most valuable. The pre-sale estimate of the glove was $50,000. Now even though the buyer bid $350,000 for it, after all of the taxes and other fees are added on, the total amount that this buyer will end up paying for the glove is about $420,000.

Especially since his death in June, people everywhere have become more and more interested in his life, from his childhood through his adulthood. Even his leather jacket that he wore in “Bad” sold for over $200,000. Michael Jackson himself, too, was interested in historical memorabilia and often found knickknacks to buy and collect.

Because of the spark in interest, the entire collection that was sold by the auction house sold for nearly 20 times their original estimated selling prices. Wouldn’t you be tempted to try the stuff on? Maybe that’s just me…
