Happy Summer!
Even though the first day of summer was technically yesterday, it’s still a reason to celebrate today! Yay summer! What are your plans? Travel? Sun? Barbecue? More sun? Beach?
One thing’s for sure: summer is all about fun. Movies, TV, and music in the summer are all geared toward entertainment. Here, I’ll give you an example: summer movies are all action, comedy, kiddy, and fun. They’re money-makers. Movies that come out in the fall and winter, however, are all Oscar-worthy pictures. See what I’m getting at? Although…word on the street is that only 15% of audiences who saw Toy Story 3 *didn’t* cry. Yikes! I can’t wait to find out what that’s all about!
Music, too, definitely has a different feel in the summer. The anthems for 2010 include Gaga’s “Alejandro,” Usher’s “OMG” (feat. Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas) and most definitely Katy Perry’s newest hit, “California Gurls.” Speaking of which…are we ever going to go back to when song titles weren’t misspelled? Let’s hope it’s still on purpose, you know?
No matter what you’ll be watching or listening to, you can be sure that this summer season is going to be sunny and full of fun!
