Happy Thanskgiving from SendMe!
What are your Thanksgiving traditions? Turkey, dressing (or stuffing instead?), gravy, mashed potatoes, yams (with or without marshmallows?), rolls, pie, green beans, veggies, what else?
I’m probably forgetting something major and will suffer some mental backlash (how DARE she forget xxxx), but no matter your personal tradition, Thanksgiving in the United States seems to be one of the favorite holidays for Americans. Aside from the gluttonous eating, it’s a time for family and friends to get together and have a good time, cozy up next to a fire on a cold day.
Of course, if you grew up in the United States, you know the history of Thanksgiving, and how the Pilgrims of Plymouth survived their first winter in New England with the help of Native Americans. Though their meal was pretty different from the traditional food we serve today (such as cod, shellfish, corn, and squash), it’s now more of a symbol of blessings.
Have a fun and safe holiday!
