Almost 120,000 iPads Sold Already
It is crazy to think that “99.9%” of purchasers of the iPad haven’t even touched the product yet. But, according to mobiletechnews, Apple has already generated $75 million in sales for their new product.
Even crazier is the idea that the iPad isn’t even formally released for another three weeks! These numbers only come from the first day of pre-ordering the product, since it isn’t out until April 3rd (technically). Apparently, actually, Apple sold 50,000 of the iPads in under two hours. Wow! Who’s buying this thing?
It looks as if people are interested in both the iPads with Wi-Fi and those with both Wi-Fi and 3G capability. (But what I want to know is…why isn’t the iPad equipped with flash capability? Oh well.) Wi-Fi alone is more popular, though, since it is less expensive. To add the Wi-Fi capability adds $130 and an antenna to the cost. Since the cheapest (16GB) iPad runs at about $499 already, people tend to be okay with just the Wi-Fi.
Will you be getting an iPad on April 3? As of right now I think I’m more interested in mooching of someone else who buys one so I can see this thing for myself!
