The AT&T Tilt2: Windows Competing with Apple
For awhile there have been plans to release a smartphone which runs entirely on Windows: it is the PC vs. Mac debate wrapped up into a mobile-phone-sized package.

The phone was supposed to be released by AT&T on October 6 but it has now been pushed back to October 18. It will feature AT&T’s 3G network and Windows Mobile 6.5 software. Obviously, this is the Windows attempt to compete with Apple’s iPhone. Both smartphones will be offered at AT&T—will the PC be successful?
The Tilt2 (a nickname for HTC Touch Pro 2) is highly anticipated because of its software. The physical body of the phone on its own is fine, but people seem to be excited about Windows Mobile 6.5. Microsoft has been hard at work to equal (or even upstage) the simplicity and the sleekness of the iPhone’s software.
As of now the release date for the Tilt2 is October 18. We’ll keep you updated if it changes. Check it out!
