T-Mobile Giving Away Free Phones
On Saturday, June 19, T-Mobile will be giving away free phones. Seriously!
As part of a one-day promotion in which T-Mobile is trying to gain some customers and loyal followers, the mobile monster is going to be giving free phones to new customers who sign up for a two-year family plan.
What’s the catch? Well, the only catch that I can see is that you have to be a new customer and that you have to sign up for a family plan, which means more phones and more money to spend. The promotion begins at 8:00AM at T-Mobile stores (participating ones, I assume) and will go until supplies last.
According to the press release from the carrier, it *is* all 30 phones that T-Mobile currently offers that will be part of the event on Saturday. This includes HTC, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, myTouch, and others. If you were planning on getting your family some phones anyway, then this will be a great deal. It could potentially save you a lot of money, if your family likes the super nice and expensive phones. Otherwise, you’ll have to seriously think to yourself whether or not it is worth it.
Even though the handsets will be free, there will still be a $35 activation fee, and then the standard of $200 if you ever decide to cancel your contract early. Think hard before signing into this two-year deal!
