Verizon Announces iPhone
Yesterday, Verizon Wireless made one of the biggest announcements it has made in the last decade, rivaling its introduction of the Android phones: the Apple iPhone is coming to the network.
The long wait is finally over. Beginning on February 10, 2011, Verizon Wireless customers will be able to purchase a version of the iPhone 4 similar to the current model available on AT&T’s network. It will also be offered at the same price: $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB.
Of course, there are going to be a few problems with the first model of iPhone for Verizon. First, it will not be available on the network’s coveted 4G network, just 3G, making it not quite as fast as Verizon likes to advertise about its other products. Also, Verizon customers will not be able to multitask as well as AT&T users; they will not be able to talk on the phone whilst simultaneously browsing the internet.
Other than that, though, the flaws are expected to be minimal. There’s no word yet, though, on whether or not a white version of the Verizon iPhone has been made or planned.
