Have You Seen the “Love The Way You Lie” Music Video Yet?
After just five days on YouTube, Eminem’s music video for “Love The Way You Lie” (which features the lovely Rihanna) has hit over 23 million views. Wow! I mean, I guess I shouldn’t bee *too* surprised, since it’s been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a few weeks, now, but still!
The video is white-hot and controversial…what do you think about it?
It features Lost’s Dominic Monaghan and Transformers’s Megan Fox as a troubled couple. Of course, the whole message of the song is mixed. One minute it seems that Eminem is condoning domestic violence, and then in the next Rihanna sings the line “that’s alright because I like the way it hurts.” Hmmm…
Don’t get me wrong, I like the song and I’d like to think that with everything Eminem has publicly stated and gone through, the entirety of the song condones any sort of violence. Well actually, come to think of it, I’d like to think the same thing about Rihanna as well.
What do you think of this video? I think I like it. I mean…it’s a little weird to see Dominic Monaghan in this role, though. I’m not sure if I would have chosen him! I can’t take him seriously. Little hobbit Merry is now a woman-beater. Ah! But I guess it paints a vivid picture.
