New Albums: Muse and Mark Knopfler
Muse- The Resistance
Muse has become an international sensation, and it seems like they did so in no time at all. They have been popular in the UK since the late 1990’s, but the United States is just now discovering the band. They made their debut televised performance in the U.S. just six days ago during the MTV VMA awards.
The rest of the album is unique. Where a lot of other alternative bands fall into the trap of having all of their songs sound the same, Muse doesn’t. All eleven tracks sounds incredibly different with hints of classical rock influences. “Unnatural Selection” sounds almost like an homage to Queen. I like it.

Mark Knopfler- Get Lucky
Mark Knopfler is known as one of the best guitarists of all time. He has sold over 120 million albums worldwide with various music groups, including Dire Straits, which he co-founded in 1977 with his brother.
Knopfler has worked with dozens of other major artists like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, John Fogerty, Steely Dan, The Dandy Warhols, and many others. Rolling Stone listed Knopfler as #27 on their list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”
Get Lucky features 11 new tracks from Knopfler with both lyrical and instrumental songs. The album has a nice mixture of classic rock, blues, and a little bit of country (or at least that’s how it sounded to me…if you don’t believe me, listen to “Piper to the End”). Get Lucky is in stores now!
