Live NFL Games Coming to Tablets
Hey, football fans! The National Football League has been developing software that will allow users to stream live NFL games on your mobile tablet (iPad, etc.). So now, the executives over at the NFL are in talks with Verizon Wireless to get this development in motion.
As of this moment, some users can stream live games to their mobile phones, but contracts don’t cover tablets yet (iPad, BlackBerry, Samsung, etc.), so negotiations are taking place to try to finalize rules, licenses, and contract agreements surrounding tablet devices. In March 2010, Verizon announced a sponsorship agreement with the NFL that will span four years, so that Verizon is the sole provider of NFL games streaming to mobile phones. Now they’re looking to have exclusive rights to tablets as well.
This would be a pretty sweet deal for Verizon users. Not only will they get the games streaming to a larger mobile screen, but they will get access to other multimedia data and information containing statistics, schedules, photos, interviews, and much more.
Let’s hope negotiations end soon and that a deal is made swiftly!
