Sports Illustrated Makes Fantasy Football Mobile
Sports Illustrated has teamed up with software creators Kabam to make the uber-popular football tradition, Fantasy Football, into a mobile reality. Users will be able to interact with other Fantasy Football players during the season. They’ll be able to update their teams swiftly and efficiently on this mobile, interactive platform.
According to fiercemobilecontent, these fans can “manage their team and interact with friends directly through Facebook, through SI.com and from any mobile device.” VP of Sports Illustrated added that the software was made to be more of a convenience to these users who are already, most likely, using their mobile devices to get information regarding their Fantasy Football teams and scores.
Sports Illustrated teamed up with the company Kabam because they combine traditional gaming platforms and techniques with new ones in order to make a fuller social gaming experience for each individual user. They operate both near the heart of Silicon Valley (Redwood City, CA) and in Beijing, China.
On one hand, it’s great that SI and Kabam have made Fantasy Football more interactive and more convenient. On the other…it opens so many more doors for these competitors to talk smack to each other. Tempers will rise, competition will become even more heated. Maybe that’s what Sports Illustrated was hoping for, though! What do you think?
Are you excited for this application? I guess we’ll find out come fall!
